The son of a sharecropper, Les Fowler was born in 1941 and grew up in the Mississippi Delta. At the first opportunity, he escaped the cotton fields in hopes of fulfilling his childhood fantasy of becoming a modern-day knight. In his quest to achieve knighthood, he dreamt of traveling to distant and exotic kingdoms, slaying dragons, rescuing damsels in distress, and helping others.
The first step on this journey occurred in 1957 when his parents moved the family to the foreign territory of Texas. In 1969, he rescued a beautiful damsel from a life of boredom and in a spontaneous act of chivalry asked for her hand in marriage. To fulfill his vow to help others, Les earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and became a teacher.
Later, he continued his education by obtaining a Master of Science degree in Counseling and worked as a marriage and family therapist. He spent the remainder of his career as an employee and consultant in the corporate world.
Les utilized his education and experience to establish a company that focused on training managers and coaching executives worldwide. He survived his twenty-seventh birthday in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive. He celebrated Christmas as an expatriate in Tehran with his wife and children at the height of the revolution in 1978 with fireworks provided by automatic weapons gunfire. He worked on a retreat with Saudi Arabian executives in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia as the events of 9/11 unfolded. Les is retired and lives a quiet life in Rockwall, Texas.
